MoDOT to shift three lanes of eastbound I-44 traffic at Jefferson Saturday

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use eastbound Interstate 44 near I-55 will need to allow themselves extra time or consider alternate routes as MoDOT will further reduce lanes near Jefferson next week.

This work has been shifted due to anticipated rain on Sunday and Monday.

Starting Saturday, February 22, at 3 p.m, crews will close up to two eastbound lanes near Jefferson to shift them to the westbound interstate. By 7 p.m. Saturday , crews will have two westbound lanes and three eastbound lanes on the westbound bridge through mid-summer. In addition, the ramp from Jefferson to eastbound I-44 will be closed through mid-summer.

All work is weather permitting.

The project will replace both the westbound and eastbound I-44 bridges over Jefferson.
