Bridges/Culverts Repaired in Benton County

Beginning week of Feb. 24

Benton County – Drivers can expect closed roads and occasional one-lane traffic during a project to repair two bridges and two culverts in Benton County beginning the week of February 24, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews are scheduled to begin the project with the two culverts, one on Benton County Route MM over White Branch south of Warsaw and the other on Benton County Route H over Brickley Hollow near Edmondson. Crews will clean out and then repair the culverts.

Drivers can expect occasional one-lane traffic with flaggers directing them through the work zones.

Road signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones.

The project also includes repairs to two bridges -- one on Missouri Route 82 at Hogles Creek west of Warsaw and on Main Street over U.S. Route 65 in Warsaw. During the work, both bridges will CLOSE. Contractor crews will make major repairs to both bridges, requiring roads to be closed while crews make repairs. The exact dates and times for the bridge closings will be announced prior to the traffic impacts.

Weather and/or scheduling issues could alter the work schedule.

Project background:

  • Prime contractor: Widel Inc., Blackwater
  • Contract completion date: December 1, 2020 (However, the contractor expects to finish this project much sooner)
