Expect delays on I-29 in Missouri Feb. 17-21

ST. JOSEPH – Interstate 29 travelers, please be aware that Mon., Feb. 17 to Fri., Feb. 21 ALL LANES in both directions of I-29 will be closed and traffic routed up and over the ramps at Exit 79 (U.S. Route 159), south of Mound City, Mo.

While the lanes are closed, crews will demolish the deck of the overhead bridge that carries Route 159 above I-29. For safety’s sake, no traffic can pass under the demolition area.

Traffic will be routed up and down the exit and entrance ramps at the interchange. Expect a steady flow, but slow going. Drivers will likely notice significant delay at times. Those who can choose another route, such as I-35, are likely to experience an easier trip.

As with all construction, work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
