Updated Schedule: Lane Closures Scheduled for Portion of I-435 Jan. 7 - 9

JACKSON COUNTY –The Missouri Department of Transportation will be completing a variety of work that will require the CLOSURE of various lanes and ramps along I-435 between Three Trails Crossing to State Line next week beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 7. These closures will have impacts to traffic. The information on the closures is listed below by date range. All work is weather permitting.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

  • NEW: Crews will CLOSE the northbound State Line Rd. on ramp to eastbound I-435 beginning at 9 a.m. until approximately noon on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
  • Crews will CLOSE the left lane of westbound I-435 from Grandview Rd. to 104th beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, until approximately 10 a.m. for median barrier work.
  • Crews will CLOSE the two left most lanes of westbound I-435 from Grandview Rd. to 104th beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, until approximately 7 p.m. the same evening.
  • Crews will extend this lane closure from Grandview Rd. to State Line beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning for pavement repairs.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

  • NEW: Crews will CLOSE the Holmes Rd. on ramp to eastbound I-435 beginning at 9 a.m. until approximately noon on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
  • The two left most lanes of eastbound I-435 from Roe Ave. to just east of State Line Rd. will be CLOSED Beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, until approximately 10 p.m. that evening for pavement repairs.
  • Crews will CLOSE the three left most lanes from Roe Ave. to just east of State Line Rd. beginning at 10 p.m. until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning for pavement repairs.

Thursday, Jan. 9

  • Crews will CLOSE the fourth lane of eastbound I-435 between Roe Ave. and just east of State Line Rd. beginning at 7 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. the following morning for pavement repairs.
  • This will also require the CLOSURE of the loop ramp from State Line Rd. to eastbound I-435 as well as the fifth lane of eastbound I-435 across the State Line bridge.

Motorists should expect delays during this time. The project is scheduled to be completed sometime in spring 2020. All work is weather permitting.

 This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project which will replace the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitate the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, upgrade the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
