JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will be completing a variety of work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange this week. Some of this work has been rescheduled or cancelled. Motorists should expect various lane and ramp closures in the area. All work is weather permitting.
- SCHEDULE CHANGED: One lane of the ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound I-435 will be closed for retaining wall construction on both Thursday, Dec. 19 and Friday, Dec. 20, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. (This was originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, Dec. 17).
- CANCELLED: Westbound I-70 will be reduced to ONE LANE from Stadium Dr. to Manchester Trafficway for equipment mobilization on Wednesday, Dec. 18 beginning at 8 p.m. until approximately midnight.
- CANCELLED: There will also be a lane closure along eastbound I-70 between Manchester Trafficway to Stadium Drive for equipment mobilization on Wednesday, Dec. 18 beginning at 8 p.m. until approximately midnight.
- CANCELLED: The ramp from southbound I-435 to westbound I-70 will be CLOSED for overhead sign truss placement OVERNIGHT on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 8 p.m. to approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.
- CANCELLED: The ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435 will be CLOSED for overhead sign truss placement OVERNIHGT on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
This is all part of the I-435 and I-70 construction project and it will have significant impacts on traffic for two full construction seasons.
