Bridge repairs to narrow Interstate 229

ST. JOSEPH, Mo – Southbound Interstate 229 will be narrowed to one lane beginning Dec. 9, 2019, near mile marker 6.8. Local maintenance crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close one land of southbound I-229 to repair the bridge joints on the Poulin Street overpass throughout the week. The lane closures could be in place overnight through Dec. 13.

All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

Workers will be working very close to the motoring public. MoDOT encourages all drivers pay close attention, buckle up, and eliminate distractions for their own safety and that of roadway workers.
