Public Invited to Comment on Morgan County Intersection Project

MORGAN COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation needs public feedback regarding an intersection improvement project at U.S. Route 50 and Missouri Route 5 North in Morgan County, east of Syracuse. The project will be awarded and constructed in combination with pavement improvements to Route 50 during the same timeframe in 2021.

Currently, larger vehicles find it difficult to safely and efficiently navigate the intersection. MoDOT plans to install right and left turn lanes to easily access Route 5 North from Route 50.

Construction will begin in spring of 2021, and the project should be completed by winter of 2021.

Motorists and area residents are encouraged to provide feedback and comments on this project. Visit modot.org/central. The online comment period will run from December 6 – 21.
