I-70 and I-435 Interchange Construction Will Cause Lane and Ramp Closures This Week

JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will being completing bridge construction work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and Wednesday Dec. 4. This work will involve various lane and ramp closures. It will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will CLOSE the left lane of eastbound I-70 at I-435 for bridge construction work beginning at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on both on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and Wednesday Dec. 4.
  • Crews will CLOSE the ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435 beginning at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following mornings on both Tuesday, Dec. 3, and Wednesday Dec. 4 for electrical and paving re-striping work.

This is all part of the I-435 and I-70 construction project and it will have significant impacts on traffic for two full construction seasons.
