U.S. Route 160/Beaver Creek Bridge OPEN for Thanksgiving Holiday;
One-Lane Traffic Expected On Bridge Week of Dec. 2 and Possibly Week of Dec. 9
What: U.S. Route 160 at the bridge over Beaver Creek near Kissee Mills OPEN to two-way traffic
When: 1 p.m. today (Tuesday, Nov. 26)
Why: MoDOT bridge crews have shored up the deteriorating bridge support and made the structure safe for travel over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. During the week of Dec. 2 and, possibly into the week of Dec. 9, drivers can expect one-lane traffic across the bridge as crews make permanent repairs to the bridge.
Traffic Impacts:
- Route 160 OPEN to two-way traffic over Thanksgiving holiday weekend
- One-lane traffic on bridge week of Dec. 2 and possibly week of Dec. 9 as permanent repairs are made
- During one-lane traffic, drivers can expect delays
Bridge Details:
- Bridge built in 1953 and carries 2,000 vehicles a day
- Bridge CLOSED on Nov. 22 after routine safety inspection found extreme deterioration of bridge supports
