Work will cause lane/ramp closures as part of the I-35 and Route 152 project

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will make the following traffic changes as part of the I-35 and Route 152 Improvement Project in Liberty, MO. All work is weather dependent.

  • Crews will reduce the northbound I-35 off-ramp at Route 152 from five lanes down to two from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 for replacement of overhead sign structure work.

  • Crews will reduce westbound Route 152/Kansas St. to two lanes between Conistor Rd. and the northbound I-35 ramp from noon until 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 for replacement of overhead sign structure work. Lane closures will vary, depending on which structure crews are working on.

  • Crews will reduce eastbound Route 152 to northbound I-35 (Route 152 crossover traffic on auxiliary bridge) to one lane from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 to set posts for overhead sign structure work on the smaller bridge.

  • During the same time period, southbound I-35 off-ramp traffic will not be allowed to travel eastbound Route 152 and will be directed westbound.  In addition, Route 152 traffic over the larger bridge will have a closed outside lane to allow for equipment and setting structures.   The is all part of a project to replace the Route 152 Bridge over I-35, make improvements to Kansas Street and Route 291; including adding wider lanes and additional turn lanes. It will also address bicycle and pedestrian needs along the corridor, and a multiple-use path along the south side of Route 152 and Kansas Street.
