I-70 and I-435 Interchange Construction Will Cause Lane and Ramp Closures This Week

JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will continue construction work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange this week. This work will involve various lane and ramp closures. It will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 20
    • Crews will reduce the ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound I-435 to ONE LANE beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, No. 20, until 5 p.m. the following evening on Thursday, Nov. 21.
    • The ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435 will be CLOSED on Wednesday, Nov. 20, beginning at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning for lighting work.
  • Thursday, Nov. 21
    • Crews will CLOSE the ramp from northbound I-435 to eastbound I-70 beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, until 5 a.m. the following morning for lighting work..
    • Crews will CLOSE the ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435 on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for paving work.

This is all part of the I-435 and I-70 construction project and it will have significant impacts on traffic for two full construction seasons.
