COLUMBIA – Due to winter weather earlier this week, crews have pushed back the work taking place at the entrance of Smith Street to next week.
As part of the ongoing Route 763/College Avenue sidewalk and pedestrian improvements project in Columbia, the west entrance to Smith Street at the intersection of Route 763 (College Avenue) will be closing to traffic for one week.
Crews will close the entrance to the roadway on the morning of November 18 and plan to re-open it on Monday, November 25. All properties along Smith Street will still be accessible to traffic through other routes.
The closure will allow contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation to perform sidewalk improvement work that will bring the sidewalks into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
All work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
