East Hyde Park Avenue and 6th Street to see pavement improvements

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Local maintenance crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will work to repair the pavement at the intersection of Route 752 (East Hyde Park Avenue) and 6th Street next week. In order to safely work in the intersection, the block of 6th Street between East Hyde Park Avenue and Mason Road will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 12 through Thursday, Nov. 14. Only residents of that block will be able to use the roadway. Access to and from 6th Street at East Hyde Park Avenue will be closed to all traffic, including residents of the block. If needed, one lane of westbound East Hyde Park Avenue will remain closed throughout the duration of the project. The intersection, one block of 6th Street and closed lane on westbound East Hyde Park Avenue will not reopen nightly. They will remain closed until crews are able to complete the necessary repairs.

Motorists should seek an alternate route during the closure. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely through work zones to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
