CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will make the following traffic change as part of the I-35 and Route 152 Improvement Project in Liberty, MO. All work is weather dependent.
Crews will close various lanes of northbound and southbound I-35 between the Flintlock Flyover and the Route 291 Bridge from 7:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. nightly, beginning Monday, Oct. 28 and continuing through Wednesday, Nov. 6 for installation of rock, removing traffic barriers and installing guardrail and guard cable. This work could potentially impact traffic. Motorists should plan ahead to avoid delays.
Crews will intermittently close traffic at the intersection of Route 152/Kansas St. and Forrest Ave. from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 for switching temporary signals to permanent ones. This work will cause traffic backups along Route 152/Kansas St. due to other scheduled work in the area.
The is all part of a project to replace the Route 152 Bridge over I-35, make improvements to Kansas Street and Route 291; including adding wider lanes and additional turn lanes. It will also address bicycle and pedestrian needs along the corridor, and a multiple-use path along the south side of Route 152 and Kansas Street.
