MoDOT Hosts Annual Construction Career Day for Local High School Students

ST. LOUISHigh school students interested in careers in construction will get firsthand knowledge during MoDOT’s annual career day.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a Construction Career Day (CCD) Thursday, October 24, 2019, at the Alberici Constructors Plant, 2150 Kienlen Ave. St. Louis, MO 63121.

MoDOT External Civil Rights Division has partnered with Alberici, Construction Career Development Initiative, St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers, Associate General Contractors Missouri, Clayco, Tarlton, and Metropolitan District of St. Louis, to offer students insight into what it’s like to work in the construction industry. Activities will run from 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Media is invited to attend.

The agenda includes an overview of careers in the construction industry, a concrete plant and equipment tour of Alberici facility, and trade exhibits. The exhibitors that will be participating include, trade unions, local construction companies, pre-apprenticeship programs and key organizations that will be able to talk about construction opportunities in the region. Program partners will be available to help educate students on construction careers.
