OSAGE COUNTY -- The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking feedback from the public on an upcoming bridge replacement project on Missouri Route 100 in Osage County.
The bridge over Shawnee Creek is located between Osage County Route Z and Missouri Route 89, approximately 1 mile northwest of Morrison. The existing bridge was built in 1947 and is seventy-two years old. The condition of the bridge has reached a point where replacement is necessary. The new bridge will be raised to the height of the adjacent levee.
Construction is scheduled to take place in 2020. During construction, Route 100 will be closed at the bridge location for up to three and a half months. Signs will be in place to alert motorists of the closed road. Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes around the construction.
The total project cost is an estimated $740,000.
Motorists and area residents are encouraged to provide feedback and comments on this project. Visit modot.org/modot-central-district. The online comment period will run from October 21 to November 4.
