Boone County Bridge Deck Replacement Approved by Commission

EMINENCE - At its regular monthly meeting this week, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission approved a contract to replace the deck of the Boone County Route HH bridge over Hinkson Creek.

The contract was awarded to E & C Bridge, which submitted the low bid of $539,042.

The current bridge, located north of Columbia, is included in Governor Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program passed by the Missouri General Assembly during its 2019 session. The program appropriated $50 million in state general revenue to fund 45 high priority bridge projects throughout the state.

The bridge was built in 1961 and the current deck is in poor condition. The new deck will make the driving surface two feet wider, improving safety for travelers.

When work begins, Route HH will be closed for up to three months. A start date for work on the bridge has not yet been established. MoDOT will alert the public with updates through signs, news releases and social media.
