Route 54 Bridges Scheduled to Receive Material Support Next Week

CALLAWAY COUNTY – Beginning next week crews will be adding rock fill material between the two U.S. Route 54 bridges at Hillers Creek, north of New Bloomfield.

This Missouri Department of Transportation says that there is no immediate threat to traffic safety, but that this additional material will help stabilize the slopes around and beneath the bridges and prevent any bridge shifting.

Westbound Route 54 will be reduced to one lane of traffic each day from September 25 through October.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down, obey all posted traffic signs and use caution in the work zone.

Work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
