Traffic Alert: Paving and Bridge Work along I-435 from Three Trails Crossing to State Line Road Continues, Updated Lane Closures

JACKSON COUNTY –The Missouri Department of Transportation crews are completing concrete paving and bridge work over the next week that will impact sections of I-435. This work will involve various lane and ramp closures throughout the week. Motorists will need to find alternate routes during this time. All work is weather permitting.

Saturday, Sept. 14

  • Crews will CLOSE the two left most lanes of eastbound I-435 from State Line Rd. to Holmes Rd. starting at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, until 5 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 for pavement work.

Daily, Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20

  • Crews will CLOSE the left lane of eastbound I-435 between State Line Rd. and the Blue River Bridge beginning at 5 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m. for pavement work.
  • Crews will CLOSE the left lane of westbound I-435 between Three Trails Crossing and State Line Rd. beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. for pavement work.

Monday, Sept. 16

  • Crews will CLOSE:
    • The ramp from southbound U.S. 71 to westbound I-435 beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • The ramp from Bannister Rd. to southbound I-435 beginning at 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning.
    • The ramp from southbound I-435 to I-49/I-470 starting at 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

  • Crews will CLOSE:
    • The ramp from northbound I-49 to westbound I-470 beginning at 7 p.m. and ending at 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • The ramp from westbound I-470 to westbound I-435 at I-49/I-470 beginning at 8 p.m. and ending at 4 a.m. the following morning.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

  • Crews will CLOSE:
    • The ramp from eastbound I-435 to northbound I-435 beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • The ramp from eastbound I-435 to northbound U.S. 71 beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • The two left most lanes along eastbound I-435 from Blue River to Three Trails Crossing beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • The third lane along eastbound I-435 between Blue River and Three Trails Crossing beginning at 8:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.

Thursday, Sept. 19

  • Crews will CLOSE:
    • ALL LANES along eastbound I-470 from eastbound I-470 to the southbound I-435 and U.S. 71 ramps beginning at 8:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • The three right most lanes along eastbound I-435 between Blue River and Three Trails Crossing beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
    • An additional lane along eastbound I-435 between Blue River and Three Trails Crossing beginning at 8:30 p.m. and ending at 5:30 a.m. the following morning. 

Friday, Sept. 20

  • Crews will CLOSE:
    • ALL LANES from southbound I-435 to westbound I-435 at the I-435 and I-49 split beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.

Commuters can scout your route in advance at www.kcscout.net to review traffic impacts and consider any alternative routes. Also review the planned work on MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org. All work is weather dependent.

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project which will replace the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitate the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, upgrade the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane.
