Bridge Replacement at Prices Creek on Montgomery County Route JJ Awarded by Commission

MACON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a contract to E & C Bridge, of Jamestown, Missouri, for a bridge replacement on Montgomery County Route JJ.  The project will be at Price’s Creek, located 1 mile east of Montgomery County Route E near Bellflower. The total cost of the project is approximately $515,854.

“We are glad we are able to move forward with the replacement of this bridge,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Erik Maninga. “We had to close this bridge on January 3 due to significant deterioration, so the time to replace it has arrived,” he added.

The work is expected to begin next spring. The new bridge will be 24 feet wide, which is 4 feet wider than the existing one.  The road will be closed during construction.

This bridge is included in Gov. Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program passed by the Missouri General Assembly during its 2019 session. The program appropriated $50 million in state general revenue to fund 45 high priority bridge projects throughout the state.
