JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City continues to make progress on the 10th Street and Chestnut bridges over I-70. These bridges are currently closed for rehabilitation and is part of the overall 8th, 9th, 10th, and Chestnut St. bridges over I-70 project that began in April 2018. The Chestnut St. bridge over I-70 is scheduled to be open in a matter of weeks. This will be followed by the 10th St. bridge over I-70 which has been delayed until approximately winter 2019 due to more extensive repairs than initially anticipated. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find alternate routes if necessary. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
