REMINDER: Resurfacing on Route 371 begins Monday

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Just a reminder for drivers who use Route 371 that a resurfacing project is scheduled to begin Monday. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp to complete the Route 371 resurfacing project which stretches from Route 752 in St. Joseph to the Platte County line.

The contractor plans to begin this Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, with single-lane closures up to 2 miles in length. Flaggers will direct motorists through the workzone. Crews will be on site and the workzone will be active during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday. Some work may occur on Sundays, if necessary, to complete the project on schedule. The contractor plans to be have all work complete prior to the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Traffic control and message boards will be in place alerting motorists of the work and planned lane closures. All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.

MoDOT encourages all travelers to slow down, especially in work zones, as there will be large equipment and workers near the driving lanes. As always, please buckle up, eliminate distractions, pay attention and drive safely so everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
