OREGON, Mo. – A resurfacing project on Route 111 is scheduled to begin soon. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp to complete the Route 111 resurfacing project which stretches from Route T in Forest City to U.S. Route 59 in Oregon.
The contractor plans to begin Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, on the concrete curb work in the city of Forest City from Route T to East Street. This portion of the project will continue through approximately Oct. 8, 2019. Resurfacing is planned to begin Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, throughout the length of the project.
Both the concrete curb work and resurfacing portion of the project will require single-lane closures up to 2 miles in length. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. Crews will be on site and the work zone will be active during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday. Some work may occur on Sundays, if necessary, to complete the project on schedule. The contractor plans to be complete with all work by the end of October.
Traffic control and message boards will be in place alerting motorists of the work and planned lane closures. All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
MoDOT encourages all travelers to slow down, especially in work zones, as there will be large equipment and workers near the driving lanes. As always, please buckle up, eliminate distractions, pay attention and drive safely so everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
