JOHNSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close County Road 1801 at eastbound Route 50 as work continues on Kansas City’s fourth J-turn on Route 50. The road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays from Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Oct. 4. A temporary access road will be provided for the businesses on County Road 1801. J-Turns have proven a very successful safety solution along Route 50. In our district, J-turns were used on Route 50 and Route 58 five years ago and at Route 50 and Route 131 in 2017. Both intersections have experienced up to 77 percent in crash reductions.
Review the work on MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org. All work is weather dependent.
