Drivers cautioned to slow down during chip seal work on Route D and Route Z

Construction will take place from Monday, Sept. 9 through Wednesday, Sept. 11

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – Drivers in St. Charles County who use Route D and Route Z should be aware of chip seal projects starting next week. Chip seals are preventative treatment and help extend the life of the pavement.

MoDOT will close the following routes during these specific dates and times:

  • Monday, September 9, 8 a.m. to  4 p.m., Route D between Route DD and Orrwood Road
  • Tuesday, September 10, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Route Z between Route D and Route N
  • Wednesday, September 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Route Z between Route N and Interstate Drive

During construction, one lane will be closed and one lane will be open on each route. A pilot car will help navigate traffic through these closures.

Drivers are cautioned to slow down while traveling through these work zones due to possible loose rocks and gravel.

Chip seals help increase skid resistance for the driving surface, keeping our roads safe for drivers.
