CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will make the following traffic changes as part of the I-35 and Route 152 Improvement Project in Liberty, MO. As a reminder, motorists should use signed detours and/or find alternate routes. All work is weather dependent.
Crews will close one lane of the eastbound and westbound Route 152 bridges over I-35 from 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 for pavement marking removal and replacement work
Crews will intermittently close two lanes of the eastbound and westbound Route 152 bridges over I-35, and an additional westbound lane (smaller bridge) from 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 until 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 for pavement marking removal and replacement work
Crews will intermittently close two eastbound lanes of the small bridge and various islands and tops of ramps from 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 until Friday, Sept. 6 for pavement marking removal and placement work
The is all part of a project to replace the Route 152 Bridge over I-35, make improvements to Kansas Street and Route 291; including adding wider lanes and additional turn lanes. It will also address bicycle and pedestrian needs along the corridor, and a multiple-use path along the south side of Route 152 and Kansas Street. The project is expected to be completed in 2020. This project is in partnership with the Cities of Liberty and Kansas City. All work is weather dependent.
