Work will cause lane closure as part of I-35 and Route 152 improvement project

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will make the following traffic change as part of the I-35 and Route 152 Improvement Project in Liberty, MO. As a reminder, motorists should use signed detours and/or find alternate routes. All work is weather dependent.

Crews will close all northbound and southbound lanes of Conistor St. between Kansas St. and Stewart Rd/Victory Dr. beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3 and continuing until Tuesday, Sept. 17 for new pavement, curb and gutter installation, and for new sidewalks and inlets.

 

On Wednesday, Aug. 28 crews for the Missouri Department of Transportation opened the new dual Route 152 bridges over I-35 in Liberty, MO. The redesigned bridges opened weeks ahead of schedule after the previous bridge was torn down back in the spring.

The is all part of a project to replace the Route 152 Bridge over I-35, make improvements to Kansas Street and Route 291; including adding wider lanes and additional turn lanes. It will also address bicycle and pedestrian needs along the corridor, and a multiple-use path along the south side of Route 152 and Kansas Street. The project is expected to be completed in 2020. This project is in partnership with the Cities of Liberty and Kansas City. All work is weather dependent.
