Updated Schedule: I-70 and I-435 Interchange Construction Continues This Week

JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City has updated its schedule for construction work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange this week. This work involves various lane and ramp CLOSURES, as well as a rolling slowdown. It will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • The left lane of southbound I-435 between U.S. Highway 40 and Raytown Rd. will be closed again beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on both Wednesday, Aug. 28, and Thursday, Aug. 29, for paving operations.
  • The exit ramp from southbound I-435 to eastbound I-70 will be CLOSED for bridge girder placement OVERNIGHT on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • The exit ramp from southbound I-435 to westbound I-70 will be CLOSED for concrete barrier construction on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The left lane of northbound I-435 from Raytown Rd. to I-70 will be closed for paving operations OVERNIGHT on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • There will be various lane closures along westbound I-70 from Stadium Dr to I-435 for bridge construction OVERNIGHT on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
