Resurfacing Project to Begin on Missouri Route 15 Near Mexico

MACON – Weather permitting, Sept. 3, a milling and resurfacing project is planned to begin on Missouri Route 15 near Mexico. The work zone is located 1.5 miles north of Missouri Route 22 and is approximately one-half mile in length. A portion of the surface will first be milled off and then replaced with a new overlay.

This work is to repair the pavement from the pipeline explosion that took place back in March.

Christensen Construction, of Fulton, Missouri, was awarded the contract for $140,598.

“Panhandle Eastern Pipeline is going to reimburse us for this amount, since the damage was caused due to the pipeline explosion,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Brian Untiedt.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane at the project between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Traffic control will be in place alerting motorists of the work.  Please use caution if you travel through this area, and obey all work zone signs and personnel.  Please put your cell phone down to help eliminate distractions.
