Bridge Work Planned for Dix Road in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY – The Dix Road overpass over U.S. Route 50 will be closing to traffic as the Missouri Department of Transportation begins making improvements to the structure.

The project is scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 11 and be completed by November 1. Work will include making improvements to the driving surface, bridge deck, traffic signals and sidewalks.

Dix Road will be closed to traffic at the interchange when construction begins and will remain closed for up to fifteen days while the bridge deck is repaired. Motorists are encouraged to find other routes around the work area during that time.

Ramps onto and off of Route 50 will remain open throughout the project. Minor traffic impacts to Route 50 are possible, including short-term lane closures.

MoDOT urges motorists to use caution and stay focused on the road when traveling through these work zones.
