JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will continue with construction work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange this week beginning on Monday, Aug. 19. This work involves various lane and ramp CLOSURES, as well as a rolling slowdown. It will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.
- Westbound I-70 between Blue Ridge Cutoff and Manchester Trafficway will be reduced to ONE LANE for bridge girder placement beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Additionally, the on ramps to westbound I-70 from U.S. Highway 40 and Blue Ridge Cutoff will be CLOSED during this time.
- There will be various intermittent rolling slowdowns throughout the night.
- Westbound I-70 between Stadium Dr. and I-435 will be reduced to ONE LANE for bridge deck work beginning at 7 p.m. on both Tuesday, Aug. 20, and Wednesday, Aug. 21, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Eastbound I-70 between U.S. Highway 40 and Stadium Dr. will be reduced to ONE LANE for bridge deck work beginning at 7 p.m. on both Wednesday, Aug. 21, and Thursday, Aug. 22, until 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Additionally, the on ramps to eastbound I-70 from Jackson Ave., Van Brunt Blvd., and U.S. Highway 40 will be CLOSED during this time.
- The left lanes of both northbound and southbound I-435 between Raytown Rd. and U.S. Highway 40 will be CLOSED for paving work beginning at 7 p.m. on both Tuesday, Aug. 20, and Thursday, Aug. 22, until approximately 5 a.m. the following mornings.
- There will be a rolling slowdown in all directions along both I-70 and I-435 on both Monday, Au. 12, and Wednesday, Aug. 21 , at 7 p.m. These rolling slowdowns should only last about five minutes.
- The ramp from southbound I-435 to westbound I-70 will be CLOSED OVERNIGHT on both Tuesday, Aug. 20, and Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings for pavement work.
