Eastbound I-435 From State Line Road to Holmes Road Reduced to THREE Lanes for Next 10 days

JACKSON COUNTY –The Missouri Department of Transportation crews are completing critical concrete paving work over the next 10 days that will impact eastbound I-435. On Friday Aug. 16, crews will CLOSE the inside left lane of eastbound I-435 at 7 p.m. and it will REMAIN CLOSED until Monday Aug. 26.

The lane will close at State Line Road to just past Holmes Road. This will move traffic to the three exit lanes only. No express lanes. When complete, traffic will return to a new configuration of four continuous lanes.

We expect this lane closure to have significant impacts to evening rush hour, especially on Monday, Aug. 19 as motorists encounter the reduced lanes for the first time. We highly recommend commuters scout your route in advance at www.kcscout.net to review traffic impacts and consider any alternative routes.

All work is weather dependent.

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project which will replace the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitate the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, upgrade the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane. Learn more about the project here: www.modot.org/kansascity/major_projects/I435South/.  Also review the planned work on MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
