MOUND CITY, Mo. – Resurfacing is planned for the interchange ramps and the truck parking area on southbound Interstate 29 tomorrow and Thursday south of Mound City. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp. to resurface I-29 from the Davis Creek Bridge just south of Mound City to the U.S. Route 59 interchange at Exit 67, including ramps within that area.
Crews plan to close the southbound ramps only during daylight hours Wednesday, Aug. 7 and Thursday, Aug. 8. Each set of ramps is set to close for approximately four hours until the pavement is cooled enough to safely allow traffic on it. All work is weather permitting. There is a possibility for rain in the forecast both Wednesday and Thursday. If weather hampers construction, the closures could be pushed back one to two days.
The planned order of work is:
- Truck parking area south of Mound City – closing Wednesday morning and reopening Thursday afternoon
- U.S. Route 159 on and off ramps – Wednesday, Aug. 7
- U.S. Route 59 (Exit 75, north Oregon exit) on and off ramps – Thursday, Aug. 8
- U.S. Route 59 (Exit 67, south Oregon exit) on and off ramps – Thursday, Aug. 8
