Traffic Congestion Expected on U.S. Route 60 in Monett Starting August 5

 

What: Traffic congestion expected on U.S. Route 60 east of Missouri Route 37 in Monett during bridge project 

When: Starting at mid-morning on Monday, August 5, and lasting until Thanksgiving 

Details: Contractor crews removing and replacing westbound bridge deck (driving surface) on Route 60 bridge over railroad tracks and Waldensian Street 

Traffic Impacts:

  • Route 60 reduced to one lane in each direction and traffic shifted to eastbound side of bridge
  • Traffic congestion expected during high traffic volume times
  • Big trucks urged to avoid the area and consider using I-44 and I-49 instead
  • Waldensian Street underneath Route 60 CLOSED for duration of project 

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule
