St. Louis Work Zones for August 1-7

All EB, WB I-44 lanes closed at I-270 August 2-5

ST. LOUISDrivers who use I-44 for weekend travel will want to consider alternate routes August 2-5, as MoDOT will close the interstate to set girders for the new westbound Watson Road bridge over I-44.

Crews will close all lanes of eastbound and westbound I-44 between I-270 and Geyer Road starting at 7 p.m. Friday, August 2, with all lanes closed by 8 p.m.

During the interstate closure, drivers will still be able to get from I-44 to I-270 in both directions, as well as to eastbound Watson Road (Route 366). All interstate lanes reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, August 5.

Drivers may want to avoid southbound Route 141 near the I-44 interchange this weekend, as crews will close two southbound lanes on the route for work on the bridges over the Meramec River and BNSF railroad. Lanes will close at 7 p.m. Friday August 2, and reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, August 5. In addition, the flyover ramp to eastbound I-44 in this area will be closed from 5 a.m. Saturday, August 3 until 10 a.m. August 4.

Next week, daytime drivers heading to Illinois will want to avoid the Jefferson Barracks Bridge. Crews are replacing an expansion joint on the bridge and will have two eastbound lanes closed across the bridge. Crews will close two lanes starting at 5 a.m. Monday, August 5 through Thursday August 9. Lanes will reopen by 2 p.m. each day before evening rush.
