Contract Awarded for Work on Two Camden County Bridges

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved a contract to repair two bridges on Route A in Camden County.

Ennis Excavating of Jamestown was awarded a contract to replace the decks on the Conns Creek bridge north of Richland and the Dry Auglaize Creek bridge east of Linn Creek. The contractor submitted the lowest bid of $719,421.

The two bridges were built in 1967 and their decks have reached a point where they need to be replaced. Although the bridges’ widths will remain the same, the driving surface will be improved and guardrail will be added to the approaches of both bridges to increase safety.

Work on the bridges is scheduled to begin in June and be completed in August. The work will require full closures of Route A. Both bridges could be closed at the same time. Detours on state routes will be used during construction.
