CRAWFORD COUNTY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation is holding an online public briefing to share information about an upcoming project that will replace the Missouri Route 19 bridge over Crooked Creek near Cherryville and the Crawford County Route M bridge over Crooked Creek near Steelville.
Information about the project is available at www.MoDOT.org/Central/CrawfordM19Bridges.htm.
The Route 19 bridge was built in 1928 and the Route M bridge was built in 1937. Both bridges are 20 feet wide and will be replaced by wider structures.
Construction of each of the bridges will be scheduled to take place between March and November of 2017. The Route M bridge construction is scheduled to take place outside of the school year. Both routes will be closed during construction and each bridge will be closed for no more than 82 calendar days. Motorists will be encouraged to use alternate routes during construction, and those alternate routes can be found on the project page.
An online comment form is available on the project website for anyone who would like to provide feedback. The public comment period runs through Friday, Jan. 20.
