MoDOT Holding Online Public Meeting for Washington County Bridge Replacement

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation is holding an online public meeting to share information about an upcoming project that will replace the Washington County Route 32 bridge over Cedar Creek, approximately two miles east of Caledonia and seven miles west of Bismarck.

Information about the project is available at www.MoDOT.org/Central/WashingtonRoute32Bridge.htm.

The Route 32 bridge was built in 1934 and is 22 feet wide. The deck and substructure of the bridge has deteriorated and is in need of replacement. The new bridge will be 26-feet wide and will be safer for motorists.

Rehabilitation of the bridge is scheduled to take place between May and September of 2017. Route 32 will be closed for the duration of the project. Motorists will be encouraged to use the signed detour route during the work. This alternate route can be found on the project page listed above.

An online comment form is also available on the project website for anyone who would like to provide feedback. The public comment period runs through Monday, Feb 6.

If you would like more information about the project or the community briefing, please contact Transportation Project Manager Danica Stovall-Taylor at (573) 526-8099 or Danica.Stovall-Taylor@modot.mo.gov.
