JOHNSON COUNTY – Crews will close Route OO just west of Route 13 beginning Monday Feb. 6 to replace the deck on the Walnut Creek Bridge. Local traffic will be re-routed via Route 13, Route U, Route H, and Route M. The repairs are expected to last through mid-March. All work is weather dependent.
This is part of a bridge rehabilitation project in Johnson County that will also address two additional bridges on Route 131 and one on Route 23 during this construction season.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
