ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use the Poplar Street Bridge should consider other options next week as crews remove a sign truss on the bridge next Wednesday and Friday nights.
Work is weather permitting.
Crews will close the ramp from northbound I-55/eastbound I-44 to the Poplar Street Bridge starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 15. In addition, they will close a lane on eastbound I-64 between 6th Street and the Missouri state line. The lanes and the ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday, February 16.
Crews will also close the ramp starting at 7 p.m. Friday, February 17. In addition, crews will close one lane eastbound between 6th Street and the Missouri state line and three westbound lanes between the Missouri state line and the ramp to I-44/I-55. The lanes and the ramp will reopen by 7 a.m. Saturday, February 18.
To avoid the closure, drivers should consider using the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge on I-70; I-255/I-270; or the Martin Luther King or Eads bridges in St. Louis City. To detour around the ramp closure, drivers should continue on eastbound I-44 to Washington Avenue, take Lumiere Place Boulevard and turn onto the Martin Luther King Bridge into Illinois.
