Pavement Repair to Close Lanes on Route 54 in Callaway County

Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation have scheduled to resume a pavement repair project on U.S. Route 54 in Callaway County on Monday, Feb. 13. The work, which will take place in two-mile stretches, will close either one eastbound lane and one westbound lane between Holts Summit and Fulton each day for up to five weeks.

The work is a precursor to resurfacing eastbound and westbound Route 54, which will take place this spring. After Route 54 is resurfaced, High Friction Surface Treatment will be placed on the curve east of Summit Drive, locally known as the Mel-Ray curve. The High Friction Surface Treatment was added to the scope of the resurfacing project following a safety audit of Route 54 from Camdenton to Mexico.

MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers during the work.
