SALINE COUNTY – Beginning Feb. 22, crews will be constructing a bypass from the eastbound lanes of I-70 -- between mile markers 64 to 67 – to the south outer road (125th Road) at the Davis Creek Bridge. This will require shoulder work and lane closures on I-70 for short periods of time. This will also close the south outer road to allow bridge work and bypass construction. All work is weather dependent.
The crews are preparing for a bridge rehabilitation project on the Davis Creek Bridges that will re-route eastbound I-70 traffic onto the south outer road in the next few weeks through December. Westbound I-70 traffic will use existing westbound bridge in first phase of work. Median crossovers will allow westbound traffic to use the eastbound I-70 bridge in the second phase of work.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
