Road Work Planned in DeKalb County

MAYSVILLE, Mo. – Those who live on and drive some routes around DeKalb County will see surface improvements soon. A resurfacing project is set to begin next week on Routes 6, J, O and N. Contractors from Herzog Contracting Corp., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will have two crews beginning at approximately 7 a.m. Monday, March 27. One crew will be working in various locations on Route 6 between Routes 31 and J. There will be single lane closures around the work.

Also on Monday, March 27 at 7 a.m. a second crew will close Route O in two-mile segments between Routes N and 33 to prepare the surface for an asphalt overlay. That crew will then close Route J between Route 6 and U.S. Route 36 to prepare it for an asphalt overlay. Each of these closures will take approximately two days with the road closing each morning at 7 a.m. and reopening each evening at approximately 6 p.m.

After both Routes O and J have been prepped, crews will overlay those two routes, closing only one lane at a time. They will then close all of Route N between Routes 6 and O for an asphalt overlay. The overlays will all take place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

The contractor plans to have all work completed on or before May 1, 2017, weather permitting.

Schedules are subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
