JACKSON AND CASS COUNTIES – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close north and southbound lanes on Interstate 49 between the 140th Street ramp and the Main Street ramp for partial bridge removal beginning Friday, March 31 at 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, April 3. All work is weather permitting.
- Northbound and southbound I-49/71 Highway will be closed and diverted to the outer roads from the Main Street ramp to the 140th Street ramp in both directions.
- Main Street will be closed in both directions between the outer roads for the duration of the weekend closure.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
