Heavy rains prompts closure of state highway - Route 23

KANSAS CITY, Mo – Recent heavy rains has prompted the closure of a rural route in the Kansas City district. As a reminder, the Missouri Department of Transportation asks all motorists to be on-guard for flooded roads. And remember, Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

Motorists can check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map, located at www.modot.org, or call the toll free number, 1-888-ASK-MODOT, to get the latest information on road closings due to high water or debris covering state highways.

Below is a listing of the closure as of 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017:

COUNTY       ROUTE      LOCATION

Johnson           23                Between County Roads NE 950 and NE 1125
