JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes and ramps of northbound and southbound Interstate 435 between U.S. 71 and MO 350 for the demolition of the 83rd St Bridge. The closure will commence on Friday, April 7, at 10 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, April 10, at 5 a.m. Motorists should find alternate routes. All work is weather permitting.
Bridge demolition will not impact the local residents as the 83rd St. Bridge crossing has been closed for several years. KC Scout will post pre-notification messages the week of the closure.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
