Route 52 Improvements Begin Monday

Improvements to Missouri Route 52 in Miller and Morgan counties will begin on Monday, April 10. Shoulders will be added on Route 52 between Route Y in Eldon and Route C in Versailles. An asphalt overlay will be applied between Route Y and Route 5.

Motorists should expect lane closures with flag crews and pilot cars guiding motorists through the work zones. Pilot cars help motorists safely navigate through work zones that might include equipment crossings, difficult crossroads, lane changes or other obstacles.

Here’s how it works: At each end of the work zone, a flagger will stop traffic until the pilot car is ready to lead vehicles through the work area. The pilot car will then guide vehicles safely through the work zone and will pull off the road at the end of the work zone to allow the travelers to continue on their way. The car will then repeat the process, traveling in the other direction.

The project is scheduled for completion in July.
