JEFFERSON CITY – A U.S. Route 50 resurfacing and intersection improvement project will begin on the east side of Jefferson City on Monday, April 17. Work will start at the Route 50 intersection at Lisletown Road.
Motorists should be prepared for single lane closures in the area during the work.
Work on the Lisletown Road intersection includes adding a deceleration lane to eastbound Route 50 and an acceleration lane to westbound Route 50.
The project also includes pavement repair and resurfacing on eastbound and westbound Route 50 from the Moreau River to near the Osage County line. In addition, future safety improvements will be made at the intersection of Route 50 and Liberty/Shamrock Road.
When work is completed at the Liberty/Shamrock Road intersection, these are the only traffic movements that will be allowed at the intersection:
- Access to Liberty/Shamrock Road on the south side of Route 50 will be reduced to right-turns only from eastbound Route 50.
- Northbound traffic on Liberty/Shamrock Road from the south side of Route 50 will be able to turn right onto eastbound Route 50.
- Westbound Route 50 traffic will be able to turn right to go north on Shamrock Road.
- Southbound traffic on Shamrock Road from the north side of Route 50 will be able to turn right onto westbound Route 50.
- Eastbound traffic on Route 50 will be able to turn left to go north on Shamrock Road.
