St. Louis Work Zones for April 13-19

ST. LOUIS – Drivers heading downtown this weekend should be aware of several lane and ramp closures along northbound I-55 and eastbound I-44.

These closures are to restripe lanes for continuing bridge work on northbound I-55/eastbound I-44 between the I-44/I-55 interchange and the PSB.

This weekend, drivers can expect:

  • Crews to close northbound I-55 at Truman Parkway/eastbound I-44 from 11 p.m. on Friday, April 14 until 8 a.m. Saturday, April 15. The detour for the ramp closure is to take the ramp to westbound I-44, exit at Jefferson, turn left and get back onto eastbound I-44.
  • Crews to close one lane on northbound I-55 between Gravois and Park on Friday, April 14 at 8 p.m. In addition, crews will close one lane on eastbound I-44 between the Lafayette exit and Park on Friday, April 14 at 8 p.m. These lanes will reopen by noon on Sunday, April 16.
  • Crews to close the ramp from northbound I-55 to the Poplar Street Bridge on Friday, April 14 at 8 p.m. This ramp will reopen by noon on Saturday, April 15.
  • Crews to close the ramp from Gravois/12th Street to northbound I-55 on Friday, April 14 and 7 p.m. ramp reopens Sunday, April 16 by noon.
  • Crews to close the ramp from 8th and Marion to northbound I-55 Friday, April 14 at 7 p.m. This ramp will remain closed until December.

In addition, crews will completely close all the ramps between I-70 and Route 141 at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 13 and Friday, April 14 to make repairs to girders on the I-70 bridge. All ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. on Friday, April 14 and by 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 15.. There are several other overnight ramp closures scheduled for this interchange as well.

As the weather continues to warm up, MoDOT maintenance crews are out patching potholes, striping and sweeping roadways. Please watch out for these slow moving operations and move over and slow down for them.

Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

  • I-44, St. Louis City, one lane closed westbound I-44/southbound I-55 from the Poplar Street Bridge to Park through July.
  • I-44, St. Louis City, one lane closed eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 from the I-44/I-55 interchange to the Poplar Street Bridge April 16 until December
  • I-44, St. Louis City, one lane closed from the eastbound I-44 ramp to northbound I-55 from Friday, April 14 until December.
  • I-44, St. Louis City, one lane closed on the ramp from westbound Poplar Street Bridge to southbound I-55/westbound I-44 through July.
  • I-44, St. Louis City, the ramp from 7th Street to westbound I-44 is closed through July.
  • I-44, St. Louis City, one lane closed eastbound and westbound between Shrewsbury and Jamieson through December. The remaining lanes are narrowed and shifted.
  • I-44, St. Louis City, the ramp from Shrewsbury to eastbound I-44 is closed through December.
  • I-55, St. Louis City, the ramp from Marion to northbound is closed April 17 until December.
  • I-44, St. Louis County, the connection between the north outer road and northbound and southbound Route 141is closed until summer 2017. Drivers can detour by using South Highway Drive, Maritz Drive and the North Highway Drive.
  • Route 94, St. Charles County, the ramp from westbound to eastbound Route 364 will be narrowed though spring 2018.
  • Route 61/67, Jefferson County, through mid-April, one lane closed northbound and southbound between Fox Pointe and Linderhoff.
