CLAY COUNTY – Crews for the Missouri Department of Transportation will reduce southbound I-29 to one lane between the off-ramp to southbound 169 and the on-ramp to northbound 169 from 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20 through Tuesday, April 25 for new pavement construction work. This will be a 24/7 lane reduction.
In addition, the ramp from southbound I-29 to northbound Route 169 will be closed as well as the ramp from Waukomis Drive (Route AA) to southbound I-29 from 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20 through Tuesday, April 25. The ramp from southbound I-29 to southbound Route 169 will be reduced to one lane during the same time period. All work is weather dependent.
Substantial delays are expected during morning and evening rush hours while the construction work is underway. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during peak hours.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
